Georgie began songwriting at the age of 12 and started performing at the age of 13 in clubs and caravan parks alongside her mother who was, at the time, also a club singer. She also started posting covers on her YouTube channel in 2015.
Being self-taught in piano and drums and then learning guitar later on, she started making music in mid 2016 at a local recording studio under her legal name, spawning her first EP 'Revelation' which was released in January 2017 on streaming platforms with the tracks "Lonely," "Falling" & "What If I Never Make It."
In September 2019, Georgie auditioned for the Open Mic UK to which she got through to the showcase where she performed "Lonely" and earned an artist development programme under Future Music to which she was paired with Brunel Studios in Bristol and started working with producer, Jordan Round. Due to Covid-19, work on an EP was cut short, however, the single "Suddenly It's Over" - a rock infused upbeat track - was released in July 2020.

Georgie continued to work with Jordan after separating from Future Music and produced a few songs for what would be her EP, however, during production she was presented with an instrumental that Jordan had written and took instant inspiration. She wrote the lyrics and top line to what would soon become known as the song "Sugar."
Jordan at this time had been working on an EP to present to the dark pop record label CloudKid, and once presented with a demo, wanted the song to be a part of his project.
Sugar was quickly signed by CloudKid and was set to be the second release from the EP, however, Georgie felt that with the new sound and now a label backing the release, she needed a stage name.

Georgina Black was born in 2023 at a writing session. It went something like "Well, Georgie is usually short for Georgina - in this instance it's not but it sounds good, and I just constantly wear black." Not originally sure on the name, it was very last minute adopted once the release for Sugar came around in April 2023. Georgie then continued to work on solo releases for the label to which "Doll House" & "SCREAM" were both released in 2023 under CloudKid.

Since 2018, she has been performing covers and originals as a solo club artist around England & Wales.
